This story is about a little girl named Pinky who lives in Abudhabi. There she stays with her parents in a shared flat with self locking doors and crying fans. As to say Pinky is a mischievous adventorous girl who likes to try all small new things in life.
One day she was a bit sick. So her parents asked her to take rest and be at home. They left her and went for work. She laid in her bed alone feeling bored. Being a little mischievous and a great food lover, she decided to make something without much effort. She remembered her mom saying about the new jumbo bread she had bought. Now the answer was clear. She wanted a sandwich. The most easiest one was to keep a slice of cheese and a chicken burger in it. Before trying her hand in cooking she changed into her mom's big old night dress to keep her dress safe from sauces. She took a burger from the freezer and fried it in oil and placed it over the cheese. The cheese melted and spread over the bread. Seeing the absolute divine piece in front made her mouth watery. But in between she felt a bad odour there inspite of her stuffed nose. She looked around and found her mom had forgotten to throw away the garbage. That was bad. So now she had to throw away this rotten things. In her lagging night dress she took the garbage, went to the front door and opened it. There was some paper lieing there. As she noticed that, she forgot that the door was a self locking one. It closed behind and she didn't have the keys. Little Pinky was standing totally confused outside her door, in a lagging night dress, carelessly hair done with a big garbage bag. She looked like someone who had come to pick garbage. Anyway she ran down and threw the garbage.
The flat life in these places are such that people don't even bother to know their neighbours. One such situation was here too. Pinky couldn't ring her neighbour's door bell as she didn't knew who was staying there. She wanted a mobile to call her dad. Just then a grocery man turned up who was there to deliver grocery in some flat. He stared at her as if he was seeing something funny. She looked funny indeed in her mom's dress and undone hair. Totally upset she asked whether he had a mobile and whether she could make a call. He said he had a mobile but couldn't make it as it was not charged. Pinky said she just had to make a missed call. The guy said "even a missed call requires a charged mobile". That was quite an information for her. The grocery man gone she stood there thinking what to do and praying someone would show up. Just then the lift opened and she saw a guy running towards a neighbouring flat. Before she could call or run to him, he vanished into the room. She didn't have the courage to go and ring the bell. Again there was some sound and she turned to find out the same guy sprinting towards the lift. Before he could reach the lift she ran in front of him and in a breath said "please sir, I need your mobile to call my father as I'm locked out unknowingly, when I went to throw the garbage". The stunned man gave her his mobile as if he was a robot. Just then as she was going to call her dad, the lift opened and her dad came out. He had come to check on Pinky's fever. She was so happy that she ran to him too excitedly. Her dad was surprised to see her in a different look. Her father looked at the guy a bit suspiciously. He was also more surprised and was trying to explain the situation but words broke in between. Pinky coming back to her senses explained everything. It was then that the whole situation got funny.
Nowadays when her father meets his neighbour in the lift the exchange amused smiles and arabic wishes. To say about Pinky's sandwich, her dad had it all by himself saying fever girl shouldn't eat cheese.
